What are chemical reactions?

Are you interested in learning more about chemical substances and how they are made? If you are then you must definitely know more about chemical reactions because chemical reaction is a process where chemical substances transform from one substance to another.

Chemical reaction is a process in which electrons are constantly breaking and forming to transform into a new chemical substance. Although, scientists have never been able to find out the secret behind why certain atoms’ bond with other atoms, but it has been proven that electromagnetically charged atoms combine together during chemical reactions to form a new chemical substance.

However, each chemical reaction is very different from the other as the chemical substances are different, and it also depends on the energy used in the process of chemical reactions, which is electricity, light and heat. Hence, when you heat two chemical substances together a chemical reaction takes place that forms a new chemical substance which is different from the two original chemical substances that you added. In chemistry these substances are called as reactants, and it is proven that the physical and chemical properties of reactants are completely different from the chemical properties of the substance that is finally formed from a chemical reaction.

There are many kinds of chemical reactions like synthesis, chemical decomposition, substitution and combustion where you can find the combining and breaking up of molecules and atoms. Hence, chemical reactions are not only found in labs but also in nature where billions of atoms and molecules break and come together to form a completely new chemical substance.

Enzymes inside our body speed up the process of chemical reactions and therefore, chemical reactions are happening all the time in our body.
